Description

Product Overview

The Crane Overload Limiter is a safety protection device installed on the wire rope drum shaft of a winch to monitor the lifting load and provide overload protection for cranes. It is designed for 3–100 ton bridge cranes and gantry cranes and consists of a sensor mounted at the bearing housing and a monitoring instrument.

By continuously monitoring the lifting load, the overload limiter provides visual load indication and activates corresponding warning or protection signals when preset load thresholds are reached. It helps operators identify overload conditions in time and supports safer crane operation.

Working Principle

The overload limiter measures the load-related force transmitted through the wire rope drum shaft and converts the detected signal into a load value for monitoring and display. When the lifting load reaches a preset threshold, the system provides a corresponding warning or control signal.

The system is configured with multiple load thresholds:

90% of Rated Load – Pre-alarm threshold
105% of Rated Load – Delayed protection threshold, with a delay of 1–2 seconds
120% of Rated Load – Alarm threshold

This multi-level load monitoring arrangement provides progressive overload warning and protection during crane operation.

The Crane Overload Limiter is designed for bridge cranes and gantry cranes with lifting capacities from 3 to 100 tons. It is suitable for industrial lifting applications where monitoring the lifting load and providing overload warning and protection are required.
